Welcome Zachary Russ Johnson

dscn0613.JPGI’m excited to announce the birth of my third nephew, Zach Johnson. He was born yesterday, weighed it at 8lb, 7 oz and was 20 inches long. He and Pam are doing great.

I’m very excited, and a little disappointed, about Zach’s name. You see, Meredith and Coriena were going to be Zach if they were a boy. So I’m sad that we won’t ever have our own Zach, but happy for Zach because it’s a great name.

The reason I love the name Zach is because it’s the English form of Zechariah, which means “Yahweh remembers.” You may remember that Meredith (our first girl who would have been named Zach) was born soon after Tanganyika Trading Company went under. Those were really tough days for us, but it was such a comfort to me that God remembered us and was caring for us.

So welcome to the world, Zach! And you will always hold a special place in my heart as my reminder that the Lord remembers us and loves us and cares for us.

Wow! What a cutie! Thanks for putting a picture, I was anxious to see what the big guy looks like.
And thanks for sharing your story about Zechariah. Very encouraging and great reminder that Yahweh Remembers!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Ahh! Thanks for the sweet post about my little guy. I was shocked when you told me that Zachary was your boy name. I’m glad you approve, though. :)

My Dad had one sister and they both had six kids. Each named one of their kids Louise, Margaret and William so I guess you could use Zach if you really wanted too :-) . We never got mixed up with our cousins. Love you, Mom
