Figured you’d rather see Coriena “reading” then me!!

I’d like to start by saying that I LOVE to read, I’ve always loved to read. One of the highlights of my childhood was a wonderful Sunday school director who had the kids donate money to send us bags of books. It was awesome.

Right now I’m on a major reading kick – I’ve read at least 15 books since Coriena was born (no wonder my house is always a wreck!!) Reading while nursing works great.

Anyway, I was tagged by my sister Sarah to answer some reading questions, so here goes.

1. A book that changed your life:
* The Bible
* The Five Love Languages. Not only has this helped me a lot in my marriage, but it also helps me in my friendships. My love language is quality time, and so if I start getting frustrated with someone, I can often trace it to a lack of good time together recently.

2. Book you’ve read more than once:
* Zion Covenant (I’m reading them again right now) and Zion Chronicles
* Tales of Narnia
* Anne of Green Gables series
* Little Women

3. One book you’d want on a desert island:
* My Bible for sure
* One of those manuals for living in the boonies :)

4. A book that made you laugh:
* The Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy – I read it during my first trimester of pregnancy with Lauren and laughed and laughed (good ole pregnancy hormones!!!)

5. A book that made you cry:
*Thumbelina – When I was about 4 I was listening to it as a book on tape as we drove somewhere and my parents looked back to see tears rolling down my cheeks.
* Warsaw Requiem – when Lucy gives away her newborn so he won’t be stolen by the Nazis – I’ve given Coriena lots of snuggles today think about “what if I had to give her away to save her life” – I know, a little silly!!

6. One book you wish had been written:
* How to stop your kids (in 5 minutes) from whining and making messes

7. One book you wish had never been written:
* the books I had to read for CHOW (Cultural Heritage of the West) in college – I’d read them when I wanted to go to sleep and they were the best cure for insomnia ever

8. Book you’re currently reading:
* Dunkirk Crescendo by Bodie Thoene (I read the series in high school, and recently realized there were 3 more book added, so am reading it all again)
* Feminie Appeal: Seven Virtues of a Godly Wife and Mother – an excellent book, I’d love to lead a Biblestudy on it sometime

9. One book you’ve been meaning to read:
* The Five Love Languages of Kids

10. Who to tag now:
* Pam
* Amy
* Cathy
* Kelly
* Dad Hersman

11. You can also check out Kirk’s, Meg’s and Mom’s entries on this.

books… books… books… it sounds strange if you repeat that over and over.

I thought I saw the inside of a book once but then I woke up.
