Prayer
I’ve been thinking a lot about prayer lately. A few days ago I was feeling very overwhelmed regarding Erik’s responsibilities with his job (and how they were affecting me!), a whole container to unpack, and our move to Kenya and all the adjustments involved.
And then my parents and siblings prayed for me. And I received an email from Pam saying that she’d been praying for me off and on all day (after I’d emailed her a despairing email.) I heard from Cathy saying that the Holy Spirit had been laying me on her heart, and she’d been praying for me often.
What an encouragement these prayers were to me, and how they lifted my spirit. I’ve always been told that prayer is effective and powerful, but feel like I’m learning that in a very practical way lately. People pray for me, and I’m encouraged and strengthened, or bold enough to do things I need to do – direct answers to their prayers.
So thanks so much to each of you who is praying for me (and for us) – your prayers ARE effective and powerful, just as the Lord promises in His Word.

Hey Rin…thanks for sharing. We’re praying for you also, especially while Erik is away at TED. Lots of folks at UPC ask about you and the girls.
I love the picture of the girls on the root of what must be a baobab tree. Where is this one?
Actually, not a baobab tree, but not sure what kind. It’s at Valley Arcade.
I love praying for you, Rinnie!
Hey Rin! I’m so glad you were encouraged. So many people love you and are supporting you. I wish I could do more…
