God is who He says He is
I am really excited about the Beth Moore study that I am in called “Believing God.” During the video last week, Beth was talking about how God is so much bigger than we think. She said how when we’re praying, God often must say “Are you talking to me? Because the God you’re praying to sure doesn’t look like me, and the power and majesty that I have.”
I have been thinking about this a lot over the last week as I’ve prayed about various concerns. Since God owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Ps. 50:10), why am I concerned about our finances when we have this baby? He is also the God who gives His incomparably great power to us who believe in Him – the power He used to raise Christ from the dead (Eph. 1:19-20!!) So then why am I concerned about whether He can work in my kids’ or husband’s or my life? I’m so thankful for God’s love for me and grace in my life, that He loves me despite my unbelief and graciously gives me more faith.
The five “statements of faith” that I’ll be learning about in this study are these:
1. God is who He says He is
2. God can do what He says He can do
3. I am who God says I am
4. I can do all things through Christ
5. God’s Word is alive and active in me
You can be praying for perseverance for me, as I try to keep up with this study while being very pregnant and then having a newborn, that God would continue to give me a hunger for His Word and the diligence to study it.
P.S. The pictures of course don’t have anything to do with this post, just thought you might enjoy them.
